Kept

Has there ever been a moment in your life that was such an “aha” moment that it changed everything?

I had one of those moments a little over a year ago, and it led me down a path of reflection. I didn’t realize just where the conversation would take me, but I never imagined it would lead me here, writing these words and being vulnerable enough to share them with whoever finds them.

But here we are.

Over the last several months, I have taken the time to write a nearly completed book, but I don’t feel it’s time for me to share that just yet. So, instead, I wanted to start small and share bits and pieces in a blog format.

For those who may find this and don’t know me, I’ll start with an introduction.

I’m Megan. I am a 35-year-old woman living in Middle Tennessee. I am a wife to an amazing husband who is the polar opposite of me and a mother to two great girls. I am what I’ve recently discovered is called a Type C woman. I have Type A tendencies, with ADHD to bring me down a notch. I am a law enforcement officer and have been with my local agency for going on 14 years. When I’m not working or spending time with my family, I serve in my local church—mainly in worship ministry—alongside my family.

My life has been full of twists and turns. Trauma and pain. Laughter and triumphs. Lesson after lesson after lesson.

The purpose of this blog is to share a piece of my story with whoever needs to hear it. Over the last year, there have been revelations I’ve stumbled upon, some with the remnants of gravel in my knees because the stumble was actually a fall. But these revelations cannot be meant for just me. I know they’re for someone—I just don’t know who.

The words shared here will be bits and pieces of my own story, but I hope they all point to the feet of Jesus.

So, if you’re willing, stick around. There may not be something for everyone in every story, but there is something for someone in each piece. I pray that the Lord uses this to bring Him glory—nothing more. If it were up to me, I would keep it in a box and never share it. But I know God wants me to share so that someone might find a bit of peace in their journey.

So, here we go.

Welcome to Kept.
